Summary: Kind of Light can‘t be a debut indie release, can it?
Singer/ songwriter Keith Slettedahl is a master at concocting woozy pop
morsels out of equal parts late-Sixties British Invasion and classic Americana
rock. Each track shimmers with ultra-melodic hooks and a swirling wash
of harmony vocals, while the twinge of darkness in Slettedahl’s
lyrics provides a satisfying bite. The 88’s willingness to play
with intriguing arrangements, tempos and instrumentation further establishes
Light as a must-hear.
